The characters are relatable and real

Parents who dote on their daughter, a friend who would kill for her best friend, a brother who is a confidante and an ex-lover who ultimately feels sorry for his misdeeds. I loved this about the novel. Love need not be just about two people falling in love. There is love between a mother and her daughter, aunts & nieces, friends, siblings and co-workers. Ritu does a brilliant job of weaving each type of love within the narrative.

Kaira, the protagonist is a fire-brand and the story is narrated from her point of view. Since her mind works at top speed, so does the novel. It makes it a breezy read however, Ritu does a fine job of applying brakes to the narrative wherever required. In the end, the reader is in for a treat without the risk of boredom at any point.

The simplicity of the writing will touch your heart

The language has been kept lucid that way readers across ages and linguistic proficiency will find it interesting and fun to read. Each character is grey and real leaving them vulnerable to mistakes that they deal with just as they would in real life. Readers will find themselves emotionally connected with the writing.
