Scenario One: You finally decided to get on with your weight loss journey and find an easy diet plan that promises you magical results. You begin in full gusto and within 4-5 days, you go back to your original life. 

Scenario Two: You spend your hard-earned money on a gym membership. You have detailed meetings with the trainer, have a fool-proof plan to reach your target weight and begin. After 3-4 days of enthusiastic training, you suddenly stop. 

If any of the above describes the story of your life, then this post is for you.

Why do I keep failing to lose weight?

Most people are struggling with questions:

  • Why do I keep failing to lose weight?
  • Why do most diets not work?
  • What should I do if I can’t lose weight?
  • Why do people fail at using weight loss programmes?
  • How should I lose weight?
  • Why most weight loss programs or diets fail

Till about January 2018, I was also struggling with the same questions. I had spent loads of money on fad diets, slimming clinics, gyms and many other get thin quick schemes. NOTHING worked. Guess why?

Why did I keep failing to lose weight?

Its because my entire focus was on weight loss and not health transformation.

Story of my life:

  • Surely, I was fat but more than that, I was always tired and lacked stamina.
  • I would wake up in the morning with puffy eyes due to water retention.
  • Irregular periods was the norm in my life.
  • I would experience shortness of breath even if I climbed one floor.
  • If I had even one hectic day, the next three days were spent in bed
  • I never had time for my kids because I was either tired or racing to catch up with the work that suffered when I was down

Sure, my life took a 360 degree turn when my son gave up on me. However, I lost weight only when I changed my thinking:

Weight loss is not the answer

WEIGHT LOSS is NOT the answer. HEALTH TRANSFORMATION is. Focus on improving your health and weight loss will automatically follow. 

Difference between weight loss and health transformation

People often confuse weight loss and health transformation. While weight loss is a short-term approach that spells the formula for failure. Health transformation is a holistic approach that guarantees physical, emotional and spiritual growth that value adds to the personal and professional of an individual.

Focussing on weight loss will:

  • Set you up for failure
  • Give you fat loss without building strength or endurance
  • Make you tired all the time
  • Lure you to fad diets, slimming clinics and false promises
  • Force you to give up
  • Make you irritable towards the world at large

Focusing on Health Transformation will:

  • Ensure you are healthy and lean
  • Give you fat loss, build strength and endurance
  • Gift you a dream body
  • Ensure you are fresh and energetic all day long
  • Make you eat healthy and strong
  • Allow you to make positive lifestyle changes
  • Ensure your personal and professional life is happier

  1. Hi there I love your outlook towards a healthy lifestyle vs being a gym shark to loss weight. I love how you have a diverse way of looking at a healthier you. But I’m trying to do the same with changing up my diet because every other diets don’t work for me or they’re too hard to follow, anyways I’ve been doing my research about different types of diet plans and i found something called keto. I searched up blogs like that and i found one that seemed pretty dead on into what I’m looking for.   3. My God and my wallet knows the number of times I have enrolled for gym memberships and never turned up. Reading your post has made me realise where I was going wrong. Thanks a million for opening my eyes to the reality.

  5. Ok I am so IN to know the next post. Basically i want to increase my stamina az I’m always tired. Sometimes its sad, i may look lean but never have the energy to do anything. ANYTHING! That bad my health has changed.
