In June 2020, popular Blogging Community, BlogChatter gave wings to the dreams of 63 authors through the BlogChatter Ebook carnival. Darshana Suresh‘s book, An Ode to the Self was one of these gems.
About the book:
The book comprises 26 different topics that one often deals with throughout the journey of life. Right from being awkward in conversations to dealing with failure to being sensitive and trusting your zone, this book has them all. The author has neatly chronicled her internal journey, compared it to situations in her life and then left a message for the readers.
What I loved about the book?
If you think that this book is about the musings of a young girl, then you are right. However, what struck me the most about this book is that the author has gone all out in explaining what goes on in the mind of a regular millennial. It is an insight into what this generation thinks and believes in. Darshana’s narrative style has nailed the millennial’s point of view while appealing to a cross section of the population.
Outstanding self-help material – must read for all those who are in search of themselves.DiaryOfAnInsaneWriter
Downside of the book:
There is no downside in the book I noticed. However, the way the book is being marketed could be worked on by the author. They must position the book as a self-help book for millennials because that is what it is. It’s not a book of short stories nor is it a novel. It contains essays that reflect the hesitations and journey of self-discovery that every youngster goes through today.
