On September 2, 2020, the Union Ministry of Information and Technology, India banned 117 mobile applications and the popular gaming app PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds (PUBG). While PUBG users lament over the ban, within two days of the historic announcement, Actor Akshay Kumar announced the FAU-G Game: PUBG Mobile Indian alternative and said it will release in October. Some Netizens reacted in the most funny manner possible! They have flooded the internet with memes around FAU-G. We will enlist DiaryOfAnInsaneWriter’s favourite FAU-G memes in this blog post.
Others, however have floated a conspiracy theory that the code for FAU-G was stolen from Sushant Singh Rajput’s computer. Read on to know more.
FAU-G Game: Fearless And United-Guards game is being developed by NCore Games under the mentorship of Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar.
Sharing the first look on social media, Akshay Kumar wrote, “Supporting PM @narendramodi’s Atma Nirbhar movement, proud to present a multiplayer action game, Fearless And United – Guards FAU-G. Besides entertainment, players will also learn about the sacrifices of our soldiers. 20% of the net revenue generated will be donated to #BharatKeVeer Trust #FAUG @vishygo #nCoreGames.”
The news has taken the social media by storm and it also found its place in the most coveted Twitter Moments.
Vishal Gondal, CEO of GOQii & Akshay Kumar said on their official Twitter handles that FAU-G is an off-shoot of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s AtmaNirbhar Abhiyaan.
Among speculations of the timing of the announcement, we now see Gondal clarifying that FAU-G is not an alternative to PUB-G and that the team has been working on this app since May-June 2020.
Netizens have flooded social media with FAU-G memes.
Here are our some of our favourite:
Ncore games have kept the details of the game under wraps for now. Gondal says that FAU-G will teach players about the sacrifices of Indian soldiers and they will donate 20% of the revenues to the BharatKeVeer Trust.
Many Indian game developers have used the PUBG Mobile ban as a reason to bring Indian alternatives to the popular game. The same thing happened with Tik tok got banned. ZEE5 launched HiPI as India’s answer to the AtmaNirbharBharat initiative and others like Chingari, Mitron, Roposo and Moj have attempted to replace TikTok in India.
The Indian government has banned PUBG and they have removed the game from Google Play Store and App store. The catch is that users who have the game downloaded on their phones can still play the game as of now.

Dhruv Rathee’s tweet sums it all:
The mysterious death of Sushant Singh Rajput has raked in a lot of controversy and now the CBI, NCB and ED investigations are picking up pace. We had reported earlier about Rhea’s transformation from a scared cat to a fearless vixen and also published a case study on Rhea’s PR Team.
DiaryOfAnInsaneWriter had reported about the behaviour of ‘A’ listers of Bollywood during the controversy around Sushant Singh Rajput‘s mysterious and tragic demise. We had spoken of how Akshay is busy advertising about GOQii. Little did we know that within a week, Akshay would announce the launch of FAU-G.
