DiaryOfAnInsaneWriter spoke to, Saurabh Agarwal, Director, UNIFY Facility Management, India’s top facilities management company catering to 200 business clients across 15 cities. The insights he revealed have left us shocked & we had to share them with you, our precious readers.
Using his decade-long experience in facilities management, Saurabh revealed some shocking insights that will make you get up and clean your workplace.
Shocking revelations by Saurabh:
We are a country of paradoxes, on one hand, Indians claim that work is worship and on the other hand, companies place more importance on bottom line profits rather than maintaining a clean work environment.
Most companies who hire vendors for cleaning end up comparing costs and not quality of services.
A shocking study by Indian Labour Organisation says that globally 160 million people fall prey to work-related illnesses annually. This estimated figure keeps on increasing. Workplace hygiene is critical to avoid work-place illness.
Impact of an unhygienic work environment:
In 2016, six American researchers conducted a study that found 4,800 places in office buildings that were filthy. The main culprits included desks, fridge doors, taps, microwaves and computer keyboards.
Indian millennials spend 52 hours a week working at the office and claim the longest working week in the world. This means that most of their time is spent either commuting to work or at work. Employees deserve a clean working space, don’t they?
Your workplace is filthier than you think!
It’s critical that organisations take note of these insights and actively work on them so that the well-being of the employees is taken care of. It’s a well-known fact that happy employees will be more productive, less absent from work and thus contribute to the profits of the company.
At UNIFY Facility Management, we ensure that offices are kept germ free & clean. This is done by ensuring we deploy a fully trained team, best cleaning products and high-end equipment. We understand the work-place hazards related to hygiene and are always on a mission to enhance the employees/visitor’s experience while they are at their place of work or business.
How is the environment at your office? Is it clean? What are the steps that the management takes to ensure that you get a comfortable workspace? We would love to read your views, suggestions and comments. Looking forward to reading your views!
