Life can be cruel. You spend the best days of your life studying so that you can ‘succeed’ in life and then when you actually succeed, the EMI burden doesn’t allow you to enjoy the fruits of your labour.
I am 41 years old and cursed to be a travel junkie. If there is a hashtag that suits me, it would be #WanderLust. However, at present, I am a ‘Caged Wanderlust’, restrained by monthly outgos – a price to pay for living in a city like Mumbai.
Lest my dreams leave with me, I decided to pen this post so that the universe conspires to make my dreams come true.
This has been a very difficult post to write. When financial constraints loom large over one’s head, its difficult to push the mind to think of the fulfilment of one’s dreams.
Lufthansa’s exciting new campaign forced me to write down my #TheBlindList – 7 places I would like to visit before I kick the bucket. This is how I #SayYesToTheWorld.
So, here goes, a list of 7 places that I want to visit before I leave this world.
Eiffel Tower, Paris, France
There is enough said about this magical place. To me, its the ultimate destination for a die-hard romantic like me. When my husband visited the place on his business trip, he called me and expressed his love while choking over his tears. I guess Eiffel Tower’s massive structure does that to you.
I want to kiss my husband below the Eiffel Tower someday….
Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada
I have relatives in the USA and Canada and I grew up listening to stories of their weekend visits to this picturesque destination. Visiting this place is a childhood dream.
I remain fascinated with the idea of taking a selfie at the falls.
Bali Island, Indonesia
This seems to be a popular holiday destination for everyone who has the money to splurge on the pleasures of life.
The idea of relaxing at the Seminyak Beach is enthralling.
Disneyland, Anaheim, California, USA
Surely, loads of amusement parks have opened up across the world. Most promising to be better than Disneyland. However, for me, this destination has fascinated me since my childhood.
I want to dance at the Disney Carnival and pose with Mini Mouse.
Kruger National Park, South Africa
I read about the Savanna grasslands in my geography textbook in school. I badly want to see the giraffes and elephants that live there.
Clicking a picture with a huge African Elephant in the Savannas is a secret wish.
Bethlehem, Israel
Probably the most fascinating story since my childhood has been the story of Jesus’ birth. I really want to see the place where the saviour was born.
Visiting a place that stands testimony to His presence will be the ultimate moment of joy.
Ayers Rock, Central Australia
A single mass of rock, nature’s wonder and house to water holes, paintings and many other fascinating things. Would love to explore this place with my ever curious son.
Touching the rock with my bare hands would be so AWESOME!
Which are the places that you would like to visit before you die? Do share in the comments section. Would love to read and learn from you.

Geographically, it’s within the limits of Israel, the area is called West Bank, an autonomous area administered by Palestinian Authority. Thank you for pointing this out.
